The deal, in plain language.
1. What this is
Cloudana is testnet-stage software for a decentralized datacenter: one orchestrator assigns work to independent providers' nodes and sets the price. By using the site, console, API, or by running a node, you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the service.
2. Testnet means testnet
- The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. It will have bugs. Workloads may fail, data may be reset, and the network may be paused or restarted at any time.
- Testnet CLD and testnet credits have no monetary value. They exist to test the protocol, may be wiped at any time, cannot be bought, sold, redeemed or transferred for value, and no representation is made that they will ever convert to anything of value. There is no points, airdrop or reward formula attached to testnet activity; at most, reliable providers may be recognised as "founding providers" on terms published before any mainnet.
- Nothing on this site is investment advice, a securities offering, or a promise about any future token or its price.
- Payments. Card payments are off during testnet. Cloudana never holds customer assets other than CLD placed in escrow for a job; any swap from another asset happens inside your own wallet.
3. Your responsibilities
- Run only lawful workloads. No malware, no attacks on third parties, no content that's illegal where you or the provider are located.
- Providers and verifiers act honestly. Misreporting hardware, faking jobs or verifier results, or attempting to forge certificates is a violation of these terms and will get a node unbound and banned.
- You are responsible for what you host. Sites and containers you deploy are served by independent node operators. Don't deploy anything illegal, infringing, or harmful; we and operators may stop a deployment that is (section 4). Hosting is probed for reachability and a content hash, not reviewed for content, and the testnet gives no uptime guarantee.
- Keep your keys safe. Wallets and private keys are yours; we can't recover them and aren't responsible for what happens if you lose them.
4. Abuse, takedowns and DMCA
Sites and containers you deploy are served by independent node operators through a Cloudana gateway. To report illegal, infringing or harmful content, email [email protected] with the deployment address and what you are reporting; for copyright, include the information a DMCA notice requires (the work, its location, your contact details and a good-faith statement). The process is: report → review → stop. We review each report, and when it is founded we stop the deployment from the orchestrator so nodes cease serving it; the deployer is told why. Unfounded reports are closed with a reply. Deployers whose content is stopped repeatedly are repeat infringers and lose the right to deploy. Operators may also stop a deployment on their own hardware at any time.
5. On-chain actions are permanent
Transactions on Base are public and irreversible. We cannot undo, edit, or delete anything you commit on-chain.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cloudana and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost data, lost profits, or lost tokens — arising from use of testnet software. The software is open source under the Apache License 2.0, which governs the code itself.
7. Changes
We may update these terms as the protocol matures; the effective date above will change when we do. Material changes will be visible in the public repository's history — nothing is edited silently.
8. Contact
Questions about these terms or your data: [email protected]. Abuse and copyright reports: [email protected]. For anything public, you can also open an issue on GitHub.
Honesty noteThis is a plain-language agreement for a testnet-stage project. Before CLD carries value, it will be reviewed by counsel and versioned here.
